Major voice alarm contract completed by Baldwin Boxall

Baldwin Boxall has recently completed a contract with Sound Distribution Services (SDS) of Horley to supply a life safety Public Address/Voice Alarm (PA/VA) system.

The system has been installed in the new EBOR stand by RaceTech, which supplies technical facilities for all 59 UK horse racing courses, and Baldwin Boxall worked closely with both them and SDS to ensure that all the design parameters were met.

The system consists of four 43U lockable racks to provide emergency announcements, messaging and general paging to 32 zones and these have been grouped to 11 VA zones.

In addition, five 15U sub racks were supplied to provide background music to six of the zones.

The new system interfaces with the existing Baldwin Boxall PA/VA system installed in the other stands – Melrose, Gimcrack, and Knavesmire – offices and other public areas.

The EBOR stand, overlooking the finish line at the racecourse, opened in May 2003 and can seat 1000 racegoers plus areas for standing. It has various restaurants, six bars, six private boxes and one sponsors’ suite.
